Screen Display for the Acer Nitro 5 – 17.3″
You get a 17.3″ display with the Acer 5 Nitro. That display also has a refresh rate of 144Hz. If you are able to pump out that many (144) FPS, then you get a competitive advantage against those who are gaming with monitors at 60Hz or 75Hz. The screen resolution is only 1080P, but you need to remember that this is the resolution that most gamers play on.
Processor – Intel i7-11800H – Acer Nitro 5
The processor is an i7-11800H, but what does that exactly mean? It is the 11th generation of Intel processors and is an 8 core / 16-thread CPU with 4.60 GHz frequency. It is also a high performance (denoted by the H) processor optimized for laptops. You cannot overclock this processor, however. Additionally, the current generation of Intel processors is the 12th generation, or Alder Lake. This is one generation behind, but nonetheless a very strong CPU that will not be a bottleneck for performance.
Graphics Card for the Acer Nitro 5
The graphics card is a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU. This does not have the same performance as its desktop counterpart. Comparatively, the RTX 3050 graphics card would align to the 3050 Ti Laptop GPU. The RTX 3050 desktop GPU has 8GB of VRAM, double the amount of the 3050 Ti Laptop GPU in this machine.
Hard Disk Drive – Acer Nitro 5
This laptop comes issued with a whopping 1TB NVMe SSD drive and has the capacity to add another one. NVMe is the latest technology in storage and adds up to six times the performance of traditional SSD’s. It accomplishes this by connecting PCIe versus SATA cable.
RAM for Acer Nitro 5
The Acer Nitro 5 comes with 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz of RAM. This is a pretty standard configuration for RAM these days. That being said, you wouldn’t want any less than 16GB for gaming. As far as expansion goes, you would need to replace these RAM modules with higher capacity ones. The maximum amount of RAM capacity is 32GB, so 2×16 GDDR4 3200MHz of RAM.
Network RJ45 and WiFi – Acer Nitro 5
The network port and WiFi card is not going to be a bottleneck in terms of latency or performance with the Acer Nitro 5. The ethernet port on this delivers up to 2.5Gbps and WiFi will deliver up to 2.4Gbps. For more on the WiFi 6 (AX) card, visit the Intel spec sheet.

Anticipated PC Specs for COD MW2 2022
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is likely going to have a slight increase in their system requirements. It is built on a new engine with new graphics. It is difficult to say exactly what those system requirements will look like, however. But, based on that information, can we assume that the Acer Nitro 5 will work well against COD MW2 2022?
Conclusion
You don’t have to worry about most of the hardware on the Acer Nitro 5. It has more than enough processing power, and performance from RAM and SSD. The primary concern with all gaming laptops comes down to its graphics card. Graphics cards in laptops are not as powerful as their desktop counterparts.
In this case, we have the 3050 Ti Laptop GPU. As mentioned before this only has 4GB of VRAM. That being said, the resolution on the screen is 1080P, which will help in delivering FPS. As long as Activision and Infinity Ward state that 4GB is all you will need for COD MW2 2022 for recommended system requirements, the Acer Nitro 5 will perform well.
