The AMD Radeon RX 6600 is considered to be a graphics card that can play any game currently out on the market at 1080P with maximum graphics settings. There may be a caveat or two to that, given Elden Ring’s reported difficulties even with higher end graphics cards like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The Radeon RX 6600 is a graphics card that should last you years of gaming on new titles at 1080P without having to think about upgrading your GPU.
Graphics Cards Comparative to the AMD RX 6600
The next step up from the Radeon RX 6600 would be the 6600 XT or NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. You could also look at the AMD RX 6500 XT as an alternative or NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3050. These graphics cards all price in the same ballpark as each other and provide similar performance, but not equal.

RX 6600 vs System Requirements of Modern Games
Let’s take a look at how AMD’s RX 6600 stacks up against the system requirements of modern games, like Warzone 2, Fortnite, and Red Dead Redemption 2. As you can see from the list below, the AMD RX 6600 will meet the system requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Halo: Infinite, Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Far Cry 6. It does not meet the performance requirements for Competitive Specifications and Ultra 4K Specifications that COD MW2 / Warzone 2 have. It will also not likely play very well at 1440P and 4K resolutions for other games. But, it will dominate 1080P graphics all day long.

The games above require the most performance out of your graphics card out of most of the games released to date. They are graphics rich and some are just not optimized well. There are some older games and some games that are not graphics intensive where you can reach higher levels of resolution and performance. This data is not exact but fairly close in my estimation.

Final Conclusion: AMD RX 6600 Review
Overall, I like AMD’s Radeon graphics cards because they deliver performance and have a lower price point than their competitors (NVIDIA). Their drivers are not as up-to-date as NVIDIA and they tend to have some bugs every now and then but if you’re okay with that, then you will get performance for a much less price. You can expect that the RX 6600 will provide you years of gaming at 1080P resolution on new titles. I expect 1080P to be mainstream for at least another 5 years before 1440P becomes the dominate resolution. I would recommend this graphics card for its price as and performance on 1080P resolution for years to come.
