From time to time, Battle.net’s servers are down or your internet connection is lost and cannot connect to their servers. You Cannot Connect to D2R’s Servers But Others Can

Battle.net may enter their servers in maintenance modes or have issues with downtime. In these events, Battle.net will slowly onboard users while returning the servers to normal operating capacity. They will either let PC gamers or people playing on Xbox or Playstation consoles on first, then queue up others. The only thing a person can really do in these scenarios is wait until you are in the queue to be brought on the network. This can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.

Another issue might be your own internet connection. This is especially true if you are recovering from your internet being down. You may need to check your DNS settings and resolve any issues experienced with that. If you’re connected to the internet but can’t open websites, it’s a good indication that there is a DNS issue that needs to be resolved.

In order to see if there is a problem with Battle.net’s servers, you can visit Downdetector.com’s Battle.net status webpage. This provides an overview of Battle.net outages over the past 24 hours and includes Diablo II: Resurrected (D2R). You can also check Battle.net’s Diablo II: Resurrected Support site for any news relating to a downtime. That site is https://us.battle.net/support/en/games/d2r/1986.

What To Do – D2R Cannot Connect to Server

Outside of troubleshooting your own internet connection there is really nothing you can do when Battle.net’s servers are down. It’s up to them to restore connectivity. You can try reporting issues to Battle.net’s support website and posting on the Diablo subreddit page to see if others are experiencing the issue and have resolutions. If the issue is with lag or latency issues, you can also visit this page to see how to troubleshoot and fix connectivity problems.
