The Fortnite unrecoverable error message has been wreaking havoc on gamers this past week. Users on Reddit and Twitter have been complaining about an error message that prevents them from playing. The error states “The application encountered an unrecoverable error. Click ‘OK’ to create a memory dump, then please share it on our support site.”

This has been reported to especially hit Windows 7 users hard. Although other users including those who have Windows 11 have been complaining about the issue as well. This has nothing to do with your hardware meeting Fortnite’s system requirements.

Fortnite (Epic) is aware of the issue and it seemingly stems from their anti-cheat software. The anti-cheat software is by Byfron Technologies.

What To Do About Fortnite Unrecoverable Error
Fortnite and Byfron state they know about this issue and are working towards a solution. For now, gamers can do three things to attempt to resolve this issue. The first thing they can do is to make sure that Windows 7 is patched to the latest version. Byfron requires at least Service Pack 1 with KB4534310.
The next thing gamers can do to resolve the issue is to download the latest patch update through their Epic gaming console. Epic should be releasing a patch soon which will include the fix for this problem.
The last thing you can do to attempt to resolve this problem is to download Byfron’s triage tool. Byfron states that their triage tool will fix most problems in seconds and it allows you to automatically send them a memory dump for analysis.
