How To Find My Motherboard Model

The purpose of this article is to help the reader find out what motherboard they have. There may be several reasons for needing to find your motherboard model. It is absolutely needed if you are going to upgrade other components in your PC, like memory, or processor. Graphics cards, disk drives, and sound cards just need compatible ports, like PCIe x16 and M.2 or SATA ports. For whatever reason you might need to know how to find your motherboard, the process is simple and straightforward. You do not need to open up your PC case. All you need to do is in Windows and detailed and illustrated below:

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Type “System Information” and open System Information
  3. Under System Summary, look at BaseBoardProduct and this is your motherboard model.

Now that you know your motherboard model, you can use it to find out what other components would be compatible with it.
