If you have a Lenovo Yoga and can visibly see that it is bulging, this means that there is a problem with the battery. You need to stop using the laptop and either replace the battery yourself or have it replaced. Replacing the battery is a fairly straightforward exercise.
Before conducting any of these steps, make sure to read our disclaimer.
Step 1: Unscrew all the screws from the back of the laptop. You will need a small Phillips screwdriver.
Step 2: Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the back of the laptop. A small plastic putty knife or plastic opening tool would be better, but most people don’t have these lying around.
Step 3: Remove the screws surrounding the battery.
Step 4: Disconnect the battery cable.
Step 5: Lift and remove the battery. Insert the new battery and put everything back together.
Batteries can be a significant risk for both the laptop and for fire. There have been several instances reported in the news where a home fire was caused by a bad lithium-ion battery.
