The purpose of this article is to provide an RTX 3070 benchmark for COD MW2 (Warzone 2) or aka Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 2022. You should look at benchmarks before buying a new graphics card because it will tell you the performance you can expect on different resolutions and graphics settings. The benchmark information provided here is based on several factors including PC hardware (mainly RTX 3070 graphics card), resolution, and graphics settings.

RTX 3070 Benchmark for COD MW2 2022
PC Hardware
- Processor: Intel Core i5 12600K Unlocked
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz
- Storage: Corsair Force Series MP600 2TB Gen4 PCIe X4 NVMe M.2 SSD
- Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
The processor used in this benchmark is an unlocked 12th generation i5 processor. You need unlocked processors (denoted by the K at the end of the number) in order to overclock. 16GB of RAM is the recommended system requirements to run COD MW2 (Warzone 2) and will keep up with game processing needs just fine. The storage capacity is a little overkill in that it’s 2TB, but if it’s the only hard drive you get in your system then larger is better. And of course, the RTX 3070 FTW3 is the graphics card used in this benchmark. I always go with EVGA because it’s U.S. based support and I live in the U.S. Their warranty process is also very good if there is a problem.
About the NVIDIA RTX 3070 Graphics Card
The NVIDIA RTX 3070 graphics card was released in October of 2019. It is on the Ampere architecture which adds a lot of new technologies and better support for Ray tracing. Outside of the technology differences in architecture, here are some charts to show the differences between the NVIDIA RTX 3070 and some of its relatives:

Description | RTX 3070 Ti | RTX 3070 | RTX 3060 Ti | RTX 3060 | RTX 2080 | RTX 2070 |
NVIDIA CUDA Cores | 6144 | 5888 | 4864 | 3584 | 2944 | 2560 |
Boost Clock | 1.77 | 1.73 | 1.67 | 1.78 | 1.8 | 1.77 |
Base Clock | 1.58 | 1.5 | 1.41 | 1.32 | 1.52 | 1.61 |
Memory Size | 8 | 8 | 8 | 12 | 8 | 8 |
MSRP Price ($) | $599.00 | $499.00 | $399.00 | $329.00 | $699.00 | $499.00 |
You can see some striking differences in the NVIDIA line up when you compare things like CUDA cores and base clock against each different graphics card. This especially starts to mean more when you look at price. You’re getting more CUDA cores and base clock speeds with the 3070 Ti but you’re also paying $100 more. To put that in perspective, you are paying an increase of 16% more and getting 4% more CUDA cores and even less boost/base clock. Granted that’s not all that goes into a graphics card but it is a big chunk of it. It’s not even worth going into the 20 series cards because they are so underpowered compared to the 30 series cards (but still viable for most games).
Benchmarking COD MW2 (Warzone 2)
In order to benchmark, we need to be concerned about three characteristics. The first characteristic is the hardware, which we have gone over. The second characteristic is the in-game graphics settings, and the third characteristic is the resolution. For this benchmark, we are testing high graphics settings (because why would you do anything else?) across the three main resolutions used today: 1080P, 1440P, and 4K.

At 1080P on high settings, you can expect to see upwards of 140 FPS. 1440P resolution with high settings should net 95-100 FPS. 4K resolution on high settings is not quite there yet at 55 FPS. Ideally you want to be over 60 FPS to minimize the likelihood of experiencing stuttering.
