The RTX 3070 Ti is proving itself to be a very good choice for Elden Ring gamers and that is supported by these benchmarks. It supports 4K resolution and is good at delivering 4K DLDSR (Deep Learning Dynamic Super Resolution) quality graphics. The difference from 1080P resolution at max settings and 4K resolution at max settings with DLDSR is negligible. The 3070 Ti is the perfect entry-level 4K graphics card for Elden Ring.
The Rise of Elden Ring
Elden Ring was released on February 25th, 2022 and has since sold over 13 million copies. Its Reddit subreddit has over 1.4 million users. Compare that to Minecraft, which has only 6 million users and is the all-time best selling game. According to the NPD Group, Elden Rank was the number one selling game in April of 2022 and ranked #2 for all of 2022. It’s clear that Elden Ring is on a trajectory to be one of the best-selling games of 2022. It could be within the ranks of all-time best selling games in the future. One challenge for gamers, however is knowing if their graphics card can handle Elden Ring.
The RTX 3070 Ti Is Also on The Rise
The 3070 Ti was released on June 10th, 2021, with an MSRP of $599. It is currently the #1 selling graphics card on NewEgg.com. The RTX 3070 Ti is notable compared to lower tier graphics cards because of its ability to smoothly play on 4K resolutions. Gamers can also use DLDSR with Elden Ring by leveraging the latest game-ready update from NVIDIA. DLDSR uses AI to increase the image quality of frames, while maintaining the integrity of frame rate. That means your performance does not take a hit, but you gain an increase in image quality. And the quality improvement is very noticeable.
Due to the lack of availability and high demand of GPUs, scalpers took advantage of consumers for profit. According to Tom’s Hardware, Gamers saw the 3070 Ti available for purchase from scalpers for more than double its value (MSRP). Lately however, GPU prices are declining and another article from Tom’s Hardware shows the May 2022 average price down to $710. While this is still above MSRP it has allowed gamers to finally consider upgrading if they have been holding off for budget reasons. It’s also expected that due to cryptocurrency prices falling, demand for graphics cards will fall and decrease prices of GPUs.

NVIDIA RTX Benchmark at 1080P
If your monitor does not support 1440P or 4K, the 3070 Ti will perform very well on max graphics settings at 1080P resolution. The 3070 Ti may be a little bit overkill for Elden Ring if that is the top resolution your monitor can support. You may consider upgrading your monitor display to support 1440P or 4K if you’re set on the 3070 Ti. Otherwise, you may want to consider the 3060 Ti for Elden Ring as it has very strong performance at 1080P on max graphics settings.
Benchmark at 1440P
Oddly enough, the 3060 Ti benchmarks reviewed showed better FPS on 1440P resolution with maxed out graphics settings. The 3070 Ti should provide better FPS but for some reason did not in this benchmark. The 3070 Ti outpaces the 3060 Ti in every field including CUDA cores, base clock speed and boost clock speed. Perhaps Elden Ring’s developers need to optimize the game better for different GPUs. The reference architecture of both gaming PCs did not vary widely enough to constitute a drastic change in FPS numbers.
Benchmark at 4K
Elden Ring at 4K resolution with maximum graphics settings enabled showed an average of ~ 58 FPS. While that is not terrible, one would expect better results from the 3070 Ti. Again, there may need to be additional optimization for the 3070 Ti. That being said, 58 FPS provides a smooth gaming experience at on an incredible graphics intensive game. The 3070 Ti will provide a very immersive gaming experience.
Benchmark at 4K + DLDSR
If, for any reason you are going to get the RTX 3070 Ti it should be for playing on 4K resolution with DLDSR. The comparison between non-DLDSR and DLDSR is noticeable. With DLDSR you can see shadows and reflections and colors are more vibrant. Although you’re only getting about 57 FPS, the gaming experience should still prove smooth.
