For this blog post, I am going to share results of the RTX 4070 Ti Benchmarks for Fortnite on 1080P, 1440P and 4K resolutions. I will go over the details of the prebuilt PC for these benchmarks and how this build performs for other games like Apex Legends and COD MW3.
The graph above shows that you can expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 65 frames per second on 4K resolution with graphics settings set to Epic. You may need to tweak settings with DLSS and Ray Tracing, but you can get above 60 FPS on 4K with the RTX 4070 Ti. The graph also shows that you can get roughly 90 FPS when you move down to 1440P resolution and about 110 FPS on 1080P. Anything over 60 FPS is typically considered to provide a good gaming experience. The faster the FPS, the more of a competitive advantage you have in gaming, especially on first person shooters, like Fortnite.
PC Specs – Skytech Azure 2
Ideally to get these results you will want to have a build like the Skytech Azure 2. What I love about prebuilt PCs is that you don’t have to worry about the hassle of putting it all together. I will never forget the night my buddy bought his build off of a PC parts list website and had to put it together. We had so many problems getting it to work, even though there were positive reviews about this list of parts and that it would work. That is why I only go prebuilts from now on. It’s just not worth the hassle.
The specific SKU used for this build is the Skytech Azure 2 (ST-NEBULA-0716-B-SK).
I really like this build for performance on games like Fortnite. It’s very well balanced and future proofs your gaming experience for the next 3-5 years. You don’t need to worry about upgrades outside of storage. It’s the one thing I don’t like about modern builds, especially if this is your second or third gaming rig. You need more than 1TB of NVME storage. I recommend looking at a Buffalo LinkStation for an external drive because it provides an extra 2TB of usable data storage in a RAID 1 (drive mirroring) configuration. That means that if a drive fails you don’t need to worry about losing all your data. You simply just replace the drive and your back in business.
RTX 4070 Ti vs other NVIDIA GPUs
If I were to compare the RTX 4070 Ti to another GPU, I would look at either the 3070 Ti, 4070, or RTX 4080. That being said, The RTX 4070 Ti is just a little bit more than the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 4070 and has more performance. A lot more than the 3070 Ti. The RTX 4080 Ti is a great graphics card but it is probably overkill for an i5 processor. So once you add up the cost of a higher processor and a RTX 4080, you are really gearing towards a 4K gaming rig which is in a different realm than the 4070 Ti. To me, the RTX 4070 Ti is the modern-day winner when it comes to 1440P gaming and performance gaming on 1080P resolution. It is a great mid-range GPU.
RTX 4070 Ti vs Other Games
I was surprised that Fortnite didn’t have better performance than the results that came with the benchmark. The system requirements are not all that crazy and you can see a lot better performance on games like Apex Legends and similar results to newer games like COD MW3. The RTX 4070 Ti produces over 200 FPS on 1440P and 1080P with ultra graphics settings. I would have thought that Fortnite would be more similar to that than to the results of COD MW3.
