The purpose of this article is to discuss RX 6500 XT benchmarks for Elden Ring. The RX 6500 XT is one of the lowest-end models to date for AMD’s 6000 series graphics card product line. It comes with a $199 MSRP price tag and was released in January of 2022. The RX 6500 XT is not by any means a hugely popular graphics card. You won’t find this card on Newegg’s best-selling graphics cards. At least not on the first three pages. But don’t let that stop you if you need a new graphics card and are on a budget. The RX 6500 XT may not give you a super-rich experience on Elden Ring like the AMD RX 6800, but it will still do the job.
Elden Ring has reached the top of the best-selling games chart year to date (July, 2022). It’s massive popularity is due to the strength of its plot, character development, world, and immersive experience. The immersive experience is why many-a-gamer will spend high dollars on a new graphics card. If you are willing to forfeit that piece of the experience, you can still enjoy the game without experiencing stuttering issues. But, you will need to temper your expectations. Do not expect to play on high presets. Your quality settings must be set to Medium at the most and your Shadow Quality set to Low.
Elden Ring System Requirements

When we look at the system requirements for Elden Ring, we see that it requires at least a 4GB graphics card. The requirements list the RX 580 4GB specifically. The RX 580 came out in 2017 and has a clock speed of 1257MHz. Conversely, the RX 6500 XT came out in 2022 and has a 2610 MHz. Therefore, we know that the 6500 XT will work much better than the minimum required graphics card.
RX 6500 XT Benchmarks for Elden Ring

The benchmarks provided include a range of settings from 1080P on High presets to 4K on Low presets. These benchmarks are rated against the FPS (frames per second) produced. The hardware used to get these benchmarks include 16GB of RAM and AMD Ryzen 3 3300 processor.
When we look at the benchmarks provided for Elden Ring, we can see that the best resolution and presets are 1080P with Medium settings. This performs the best because it reaches the most frames-per-second (FPS). 1080P resolution with high presets reach just south of 50 FPS. While that is probably okay to play, it will likely produce some stuttering. That is even more true with 1440P on High presets and on 4K with Low presets.
60 FPS is the minimum speed at which you can expect a smooth gaming experience. Anything less than 60 FPS and you should expect some stuttering. That is especially true with Elden Ring, which has received some complaints about its performance.
