This article will aim to answer the question, “Will my graphics card handle COD MW2 2022?” The system requirements for COD MW2 Warzone 2.0 have been announced so this assessment is now based on published specs. This post will also only focus on discrete desktop graphics cards from NVIDIA and AMD. There will be a future post that will discuss if your laptop can handle the system requirements and graphics of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Warzone 2.0).
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Warzone 2.0) will be released on both Steam and Battle.net for PC. Steam performs a monthly analysis of its users and details specific information about their systems on a monthly basis. This is known as the Steam Hardware Survey. From that, we can look to see the most popular graphics cards being used on the market today.
Drawing Conclusions
It is likely that Activision wanted to make the game playable for as many gamers as they possibly could. However, from a gamer-experience perspective, they will also want to have a minimum threshold of graphics requirements. This will allow them to provide a positive experience on COD MW 2 2022. Activision will need to strike a balance and the Steam Hardware Survey can provide guidance.
The top 15 graphics cards being used on Steam are at least the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 1050 or above as illustrated in the picture below.

This can help us draw conclusions as to whether your graphics card will handle COD MW2 2022. That is because we know Activision will not want to alienate gamers who use some of the most popular graphics cards on the market, like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050.
When you look at the entire population of Steam gamers, a little less than half of the survey falls above the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. That may have been enough of a population for the developers of COD MW2 Warzone 2.0 to decide to make it the recommended requirement. And from drawing on that conclusion is where the list below is generated.

Wait until system requirements have been announced to be sure
It’s likely that COD MW2 Warzone 2.0 will not alienate gamers who have graphics cards at 4GB. That includes all the new line-up at both AMD and NVIDIA. The high-end cards of both manufacturers should be able to handle this game as long as it was manufactured in the last 5-8 years. That would include NVIDIA’s 1000 series and AMD’s 500 series and up. As long as the cards were in the upper echelon of those series, you should be okay. That being said, we have not seen the announcement on what the graphics cards will be exactly. We will have to wait and see to be sure.
