Will My Graphics Card Handle Elden Ring?

Elden Ring is growing at a fast pace here in 2022. A lot of people are looking at getting the game and asking themselves, “will my graphics card handle Elden Ring”? In this post, I hope to articulate which graphics cards will perform well and which one’s won’t, so you don’t get end up buying a game that your PC can’t handle. If your PC does need to be upgraded because your graphics card doesn’t meet the requirements, and you want the best PC possible on the market, read this review of the ultimate gaming PC for Elden Ring.

Elden Ring system requirements

You can find the system requirements for Elden Ring on their website, here: ELDEN RING | Official Website (EN) (bandainamcoent.eu). In order to find it, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of their page.

  • Operating System: Windows 10  
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
  • Memory: 12GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 60GB available space 
  • Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device 

Recommended System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10/11
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 8GB or AMD Radeon RX VEGA 56 8GB
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 60GB available space 
  • Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device 

When you look at the Steam Hardware & Software Survey (steampowered.com) you will find that a lot of gamers out there have the GeForce GTX 1060, so at least they can play Elden Ring on minimum settings. Unfortunately, there are some stragglers still running on the NVIDIA 1050 or 1050 Ti, so they may not be able to get a great gaming experience since they are below the minimum requirements threshold. The good news is that there are a great deal of gamers out there who surpass the minimum and recommended requirements. But if you are somewhere in the middle, you may be asking yourself “Will my graphics card handle Elden Ring?”.
