World’s Fastest Gaming Monitor | ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz

Posted on June 23, 2022October 17, 2022 By Eriksson No Comments on World’s Fastest Gaming Monitor | ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz

The world’s fastest gaming monitor is set to be the ASUS ROG Swift. Last month at Computex, ASUS ROG (Republic of Gamers) unveiled the Swift 500Hz monitor. ASUS ROG developed this new monitor in collaboration with NVIDIA. NVIDIA has G-SYNC technology which will align framerates per second (FPS) with refresh rates of monitors. The same amount of FPS will be delivered as the number of times per second the monitor refreshes the image. In this case, it means 500X as long as the graphics card can push that out.

Professional gamers will love the 1080P resolution of this monitor. The reason being is that professional gamers care less about high resolutions and excellent graphics than they do about performance. This will be perfect for games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II 2022 and Fortnite. The 500Hz will be less of a fit for gamers who play games like Elden Ring and Diablo 4. Those games deliver high end graphics and do not need as fast-paced action.

500Hz Visible Performance Increase

Professional gamers are like any professional athlete. They take every ounce of competitive advantage they can get. When it comes to gaming at 60Hz vs 500Hz, there is quite a difference. NVIDIA released a video on YouTube that illustrates this as it does below:

The video shows a character moving in air. The 144 FPS/Hz player shows a blur and that blur can be seen getting better as the FPS/Hz increases. At 500Hz, it is hardly noticeable. How about when it comes to competitive advantage? The video also shows how 500Hz can provide that as illustrated below.

It doesn’t matter if you have the best system requirements for Call of Duty Warfare 2. If you are gaming on a 60Hz or 75Hz monitor and skills are equal, the one who can game at 500Hz is going to have a clear advantage.

Another technology embedded in the ASUS ROG Swift is NVIDIA’s Reflex Analyzer. Reflex Analyzer allows a gamer to plug, for example into the monitor. Then, when the gamer presses alt + r, system latency will display on the screen while gaming. ASUS ROG took advantage of this in its design of the Swift to optimize system latency and response times. This gives the gamer a competitive advantage in that they will not only see, but also be able to act first.

The 500Hz Swift is Best Suited for Pro Gamers

The 500Hz Swift is best suited for pro gamers. It is likely this will be an expensive monitor when it finally releases. Therefore, gamers who casually game or who enjoy immersive experiences with higher resolutions and graphics settings are better off with a different monitor.
